Dansk Olie Genbrug A/S (DOG)  Denmark

next

Dansk Olie Genbrug A/S started in the sixties by collecting waste oil to sell as fuel to district heating plants in Denmark. The modern Dansk Olie Genbrug A/S has existed since 1988.
In 1993, the Company was taken over by the Mustad International Group, which has since, heavily invested toward making the Company a market leader, including investments in the technology to process waste oil into base oil.
With 35 employees in Denmark, Dansk Olie Genbrug A/S has been accountable for almost two thirds of the collection of waste oil in Denmark since the mid-nineties.

Collection of waste oil
Dansk Olie Genbrug A/S collects waste oil from approximately 4,800 automobile repair shops and 2,500 industrial companies. The waste oil is lubrication oil drained from vehicles and machines during oil changes.

For the collection, the Company has at its disposal 8 road tankers and 3 special vehicles for major oil transports. Individual tankers collect waste oil in specific districts, and the oil is then transported via rail tank wagon from a central station in the district. Twelve rail tank wagons are filled at the same time to minimise the environmental strain.
All waste oil is treated at Dansk Olie Genbrug and then sold to district heating plants as fuel. A total of 25,000 tonnes (metric tons) is collected on a yearly basis.
